AFC Fylde Women turn their attention to the Adobe Women’s FA Cup on Sunday when they visit Cheadle Town Stingers in the First Round Proper.
This away tie will be played at the Ground Up Solutions Stadium on Sunday 3rd November, with kick-off at 2.00 pm.
The Coasters are expecting a tough test this weekend when they face Dylan Wimbury’s high-flying Stingers, who currently sit third in the same division after an excellent start to their season. The Stingers have recorded six wins from nine league outings, including a 1-0 success away to Norton & Stockton Ancients last time out.
However, Justin Mcleod’s team will be relishing the challenge as they aim to book their place in the next round. Last Sunday, Fylde earned a valuable 1-0 win over Doncaster Rovers Belles at Kellamergh Park. With the match seemingly heading for a stalemate, Karri Chan struck the winner in the 89th minute to help the Coasters claim all three points on home soil.
That result moved them up to ninth in the table, having collected seven points from eight games.
Looking to build on last weekend’s victory, the Coasters are now focused on continuing their run in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup with a tricky tie away to Cheadle Town Stingers. In the previous round, Fylde ran out 7-1 winners at home to Darlington Women, while the Stingers also hit seven in an equally emphatic victory over Consett Ladies at Park Road.
Both sides will be anticipating a much tighter contest when they face off in the First Round Proper. And after a productive week in training, the Coasters will be ready for their next test in this season’s competition when they travel to Cheadle on Sunday.
